Biography

Upon graduating magna cum laude from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 2003, Mr. Nahoum served as a federal law clerk to the Honorable D. Lowell Jensen of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. As a federal clerk, Mr. Nahoum faced a broad range of duties including conducting legal research, preparing bench memos, drafting orders and opinions, proofreading the judge’s orders and opinions, verifying citations, communicating with counsel regarding case management and procedural requirements, and assisting the judge during courtroom proceedings. Upon completing his clerkship, Mr. Nahoum served as a litigation associate at one of San Francisco’s top law firms, Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin (currently Arnold & Porter), for four years, representing clients in matters involving attorney professional responsibility and ethics, business and banking law, white collar criminal defense, and appeals before the California Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. After moving to Santa Fe in 2009, Mr. Nahoum represented borrowers in foreclosure during the height of the housing crisis that affected New Mexico homeowners from 2010 through 2013. Currently, Mr. Nahoum’s practice encompasses both transactional and litigation matters, representing New Mexico public entities in public finance, insurance defense, utility issues, and civil rights and other constitutional issues. Mr. Nahoum has two sons, lives in Santa Fe, and is an avid guitar player, hiker, skier, and off-road tri-athlete.
